This was posted last week. Perfectly legal.

don't confuse 'illegal' with 'not according to the terms and conditions of the contract' or 'I didn't sign a contract at all'

It's called IP spoofing- http://www.google.co.uk/search?h…
- not the same thing. spoofing is forging. Using a proxy is just getting there on a different route.ribit

Using a proxy is totally legal, and I have not yet heard of any ISP that doesn't allow you to use one. Neither do I think that they deploy techniques to track HTTP proxy usage, among their users.
Do it! :)

of course while the proxy is legal, viewing the content might be in breach of a license agreement, but I doubt you've signed that agreement...

Yes, using a HTTP proxy only displays another identity to the host of the content you'll view - your ISP can still filter through your downstream. If you want to encrypt the data and be anonymous, you should check out Tor: http://www.torproject.org/
Your ISP will have no idea what you're downloading or where you're getting it from. Might be overkill in your situation though. :)

Your ISP doesn't care if you are watching US TV... (and they have no business getting involved)
