My brother is graduating from college and going into the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. I want to get him a nice engraved pocket watch as a graduation gift. Any suggestions on where to look?

He graduated from the ROTC program at his college which means he's now an army officer. I don't necessarily agree with his views on life or his chosen career path but none of that is the point. The point is that I wanted to get him a nice pocket watch with his name and graduation year engraved on it. I know there's some nice military related ones out there so I mentioned that fact. I do plan on checking out a jeweler locally but was wondering if anyone knew of any good watch/jewelry retailers online with good stuff and good reputation to broaden my search. There's a lot of dodgy places out there. I'd prefer to leave the politics for other threads.

I got a flask engraved in Pasadena by a guy that was really cool. It wasn't a jeweler, it was an engraver. I would look for someone that specializes in engraving. He had a machine that was computer controlled, I meant to ask what files it took for artwork, but I forgot. It would be cool if you could design the engraving yourself.

jeweler is a good suggestion. Also hit some antique shops and see if they have anything worthwhile and have it engraved by a jeweler.
