Diesel, in association with Don't Panic, have just opened a new design competition. They are offering entrants the chance to have their artwork displayed on a massive, outdoor city spaces (the kind which one would usually only be able to decorate legally via the employ of a major ad agency). This is a fairly unique opportunity for a talented few to showcase their work on a grand scale, with a large degree of freedom.
Here's a few more details for you:
Diesel Wall started back in 2004, and in 2008 this art project will delve into new territories - Manchester, Barcelona, New York, and Zurich all are now hosting new Diesel Walls.
From March 31st until May 18th 2008, creatives from around the world can submit their designs online at www.dieselwall.com. After May 18th the UK jury will decide the Manchester winner whose design will cover the wall.
The artists will have total freedom in sending concepts and can use all artistic media (painting, photography, video, performance, light, sound, text) for a specific wall or for all four walls.
Again, that website was www.dieselwall.com

Alright competition likes.
One complaint would be that the description for the UK wall is pretty crap, it doesnt say exactly WHERE on the building the wall will be - (i.e so you couldnt use any building features to add amusement to the piece of nearby items) whereas all the other buildings around the world clearly define where the wall will be.
- The direction for the UK competition are crap, as said here.roundabout
