Ugh! Moving fonts (mac)

I have several font files on my Mac workstation that I'm trying to send to my laptop online.
If I try and create an archive of the fonts, the archive is 0kb and everything is empty. If I email the fonts, they transfer as 0kb files. If I drag them onto an FTP, it uploads empty 0kb files as well.
The fonts are NOT empty.. they work completely when viewed on the Mac, but it seems impossible to move them around.
HTF do I do this?

sounds like your trying to copy aliases. find the original font folders/files and zip them.
whichever font manager you use should have an alt click to show original files in finder.

That's weird - what font management prog are you using?
Maybe open it, then export them (Linotype FontExplorer for example, will export them and automatically .zip them onto my desktop)

^ what they said. Try finding the original files.

Thanks, I'm actually using the original files (unless there's some super ninja sneakery going on here.) and the problem persists. It's occurring on my Postscript Type1 files
