They will..
So maybe not try and wear your coolest pair of shoes if you're not into the 'sneakerworld'. It might just be some stupid public release that anyone can pick up at footlocker, proving you have no taste.- i am totally into their shoes. i love thempantoneprincess

- True. You can never go wrong with fur.flashbender

clothing is one thing, but you may want to loosen up a touch...
- what do you mean?pantoneprincess
- you seem uptight and looking in the wrong place if you wanted serious advice on attire...neue75_bold
- well wear should i look? im not up tight. I am anxious though. I am just a student trying to get info from what I perceive as professionals. I just want to make the best impression possible. What is wrong with that?pantoneprincess
- that should have been where... my badpantoneprincess

throw on a pair of tennis shoes, nice 'designer' jeans, an old t-shirt and a sportcoat. it's their 'style' but a little more grown up.
- thankspantoneprincess
- ps. if you get the job you have to send me a pair. size 9. :)kona
- not an old man sportcoat either. although, if you can pull it off those are better than a new one.kona
- "designer jeans"?? what's that?ESKEMA
- im a chick so, i will definitely skip the old man sport coat, lmaopantoneprincess
- eskema: anything non-wrangler. or... maybe a washed or distressed denim jean.kona
- pantonePRINCESS: oh... i guess i didn't really read your name very well. this changes everything.kona
- yeah but i get the general jist of your advice. regardless of gender.pantoneprincess
- swap sportcoat for old velvet fitted blazer and job's a good'un.paraselene

I think k0na's on the mark.
Dress fun, echo the sensibility of the brand. You can wear most anything if you toss a nice blazer on top.
Creative shops are filled with creative workers, and the style generally reflects. Except if it's a 'marketing' place and then it's all stuffy and businessy.
Good luck, have fun. It's sneakers, dammit!

so are you gonna post pics of your attire?
- im going shopping later on today.pantoneprincess

- ok, I'll look for a cool techno song in the meantime...guys! prepare the runway!OSFA

just put somethin on- yep that is exactly it. i wear burlap sacks and jesus sandals on the daily.pantoneprincess
- then go in there and part their morning cup of coffee with a wave of your hand. i'd hire ya if you did that.kona

Really, the wrong place to ask? It seems to me that a board filled with designers at all stages of their career including seniors and Art Directors who are responsible for hiring associates and juniors would be a pretty good place to ask what kind of attire people wear to interviews or are expecting to see.
- neue75_bold0
it's a fashion job, not graphic design dude, and besides, as long as you're clean [somewhat] style doesn't mean shit to a good agency as long as you have the skills...
- ********0
If you have to ask, you have already failed.
- flashbender0
I'd consider Sneaker Design more graphic design than fashion. But I guess that's just me.

Dress as if you're going to a trendy upscale restaurant for dinner with a significant other's parents. Just remember that you're not "one of them" yet so you need to hold yourself to a higher standard to impress them.
Also you never know who you'll run into in the elevator, parking lot, etc. Could be a head of sales in a suit, director of HR, or the CEO's assistant.
- this is good advice
flashbender - pretty good avicepr2
