Whats up you epic geniuses?
I have a client (friend but they pay me) for whom I have designed an Outlook email signature. The problem is that they are 2000 miles away without access to Outlook so I'm really only guessing at how signatures are done.
I've read a ton of things on the net on how to correctly add a signature. First I made an image but they wanted it to dynamically take up the whole width so, per instructions I found on the web, I made an html signature that included the image locally on the users machine. According to MS this should have included the image in the signature but so far they can't make it work.
I don't know what to tell them, I have no idea. Does anyone know exactly what I should do that could help me? We're all starting to get pretty frustrated. Thanks!

They wont be able to use an Outlook custom signature no matter how pretty it is if they don't have access to outlook. logic?

I don't have access to outlook. They have it.

don't you have to link the image somewhere on the net for that to work? not locally?

I'm not sure, I was hoping someone had actual experience with this. If you google outlook signatures you can click on every link on the first page to see what I've tried. Without Outlook I can't really verify how it actually works and they just can't get it to work on their end.

what I do is post the html somewhere either on their server or yours. then give them the code to put in their emails. viola!
putting images locally won't work.

I'll see what I can do about getting on their server (don't want the traffic from my bandwidth every time they send an email). Thanks!

I use Outlook extensively for work; if you want to send it to me I can pretty it up and save it homie.
Just tell me what font (my guess is Calbiri[sic] and the like though, that's 2007's default ... or it should be at least).

How do you make sure the embedded image doesn't show up as an attachment in the recipients email program? (I see a lot where this happens)
- stupidresponse0
as ribit said, most email clients just attach the image, so it's mostly pointless.

you design Outlook email signatures for a living? Man, BigBlue is really pushing the envelope these days....

How can I create an email signature so that the image doesn't appear as an attachment using Apple:Mail??

no worries. Ive got it designed and prettied, I need it implemented. I don't know how to talk them through doing it since I don't have Outlook.
This is an extracirricular activity, actually, which means the borg needs to pony up some more dough.
