I always laugh at the concept that you should be able to estimate how long it takes to design anything... unless you just design everything the same exact way over and over again

Depends on how good you are, how much you need the job, who you're bidding against, the details, again-the details, what the budget is, and what you think you can get away with. Since it's a deejay, club type thing, I doubt they have a huge budget. Maybe maybe 5k. If this was something for a fortune 500 company working for an agency, a great freelancer could easily charge 25k or more. Working directly for the client, you could easily charge three times that amount. Don't forget about Project Management when coming up with your quote :)

Also try to keep in mind that if you sell yourself short, you may get the job but the client may also think you're not worth more than 500 quid

You know what I hate? Giving an estimate to someone, and having them immediately agree to the figure. I hate that.

I once quoted a job so low, that right after I said my price, the client said "If you can finish it by the end of this week, we can double the payment".I feltt like a duche.. haha
