"What's the point? There's no Nazi candidate."
well, Londoners also voted in a BNP candidate. So it's a case of a new rise of the right and the far right.
The thing about Boris is that he is affable and intelligent, he talks out of sync with the right wing but he is fundamentally conservative

Would it be possible to have an Ex-WWE wrestler. Jesse Ventura's done well but if not possible could we have an actor like Clint Eastwood. Failing that how about Alan Sugar?

Excellent. Finally someone with some conviction.

Well done. Now if only Irish reject the euroconstitution eerr.. treaty, the world is back on track. But this isn't very likely to happen I'm afraid.

" I bet the picaninnies are happy. "
ha.
and I wonder if his african friends are smiling "waterlelon smiles"?
seriously though is plainly dodgy satire conducive to multicultural leadership?

That's my problem with Boris - he's plainly a very intelligent individual, but his smarts are geared towards the type of witty intellectual asides typical of the British middle and upper classes. He can make great japes with word play and ironic observation, which makes him attractive to our media and a jipper sport for current affairs news programs - but what relevance has this to a position of people and asset management, diplomacy and issue tendering? None.
Case in point, from that article Ribit posted up there about Routemaster buses:
“Bendy buses are miserable, inhuman and socialistic and should all be pensioned off to a Scandinavian airport.” - Boris JohnsonOk, so that made me smile - but what the fuck does it actually mean? Nothing. Where's a quantified analysis of evidence to support his claims? Nowhere - it's just a soundbite. I'm not particularly party-political for this reason - all these public schoolboy muffin toasters ever do is share wisecracks. I couldn't care less about their wit where matters of import are concerned - I want reason and action, not opinion and japery.
Frankly, I've never really 'liked' Red Ken - but he seems to have done quite a good job since I've lived down here - London's certainly not gone down the shitter over the past few years, which is why I voted for him, so he can continue on.
All this said, I really haven't a clue, and I'm supposedly a reasonably well-educated member of the middle class - this very fact sends shivers down my spine when it comes to election time. We're all fucking morons - sheep led forward by whichever bleating is loudest and most comforting.

You might ask the same question of everyone here at QBN lowimpakt.
Let's take this thread for example (and I could find plenty of others): http://www.qbn.com/topics/549717…
Are the comments 100% indicative of each of our personalities? Is everyone who had a good laugh in that thread an evil cunt who takes the piss out of disabled people all the time?
I think not.
And for some of the things I've ever said in the past - to be quoted, either in or out of context, has the potential to look really rather bad. In other words, you need to be careful how, and on what basis you judge people. I don't believe that Boris is racist. I don't believe he's incompetent. I do believe he's a had good laugh in his career up until this point, but the fooling around will stop.

"You might ask the same question of everyone here at QBN lowimpakt."
100% true - and i would say the same of myself many times over the years. i usually let those things slide when it is a bunch of randommers off the internet but think a little more about it when someone is putting themselves into a position of power.
I enjoyed his acceptance speech but can't shake my personal prejudice towards conservatives.
i wish him well.

Does that mean he gets a free bus pass?

this is a quote from someone I know re. Boris
"he's a horrible bastard and it's sickening that a lot of people are so taken in by his absurd persona. he's a racist, toff bastard.
