I finally got around to buying a 20GB hard drive for my 360 tonight. I expected it to be a little less than 20 GB exactly - knowing how hard drives always have a little less space than they say.
But 13.2 GB TOTAL FUCKING SPACE????
Are you kidding me? With all the free stuff it comes with, demos, themes, etc. it only has 10 GB free.
My first instinct is that this is a total and complete rip off. 18 GB total, I could live with, but 13?????? I paid $100 for this thing.
I smell class action lawsuit all over this, and I bet I'm not the first one.

why not delete free stuff it comes with, demos, themes, etc?

Completely beside the point.
If I delete it all, then my total free space is 13.5GB.

That is a rip off of at least 1/4 the total storage space.

yeah thats total BS.
My macbook pro came with a 200gig HD and only has 168g left after the system is installed. I thought that was bad but the xbox drive is a joke.
You cant just use any old USB external drive? I didnt know anyone still made 20 gig drives?

dude it's a toy, what are you bitching about?

slappy - my refurb MBP was supposed to have a 120 GB drive and I think it's actually a 160, with 148 total space. I was happy!
But for the xbox, this is a hard drive that attaches to it.

Oh right so you cant just plug a usb external hard drive into it to use as storage?

1Gb of the 20 is reserved for the machine's OS, 2Gb is reserved for the Xbox Emulator to run smoothly and 4Gb is for game caching and other in-game software trickery - things like enhanced asset streaming and so forth.

You can plug a USB hard disk and watch any movies or listen to any music it has there, of course, it needs to be FAT32 partitioned.
If you want to watch the movies, iPhoto library and your iTunes library from any mac at home on the same network, you need Connect360
