i had an AE file and it's just isn't there anymore.. i'm sure 100% i didn't delete it.. jesus christ.

open terminal and see if you can find it that way. restart and hold down shift and it will do an fsck and your file may reappear. of course, if you actually did delete it, every moment you use your computer decreases the likelihood that you will be able to recover it

uhm, i tried holding shift key but it just stayed in the "apple logo" with annoying rotating loading thing below, forever... and i had to restart again.

You might have moved it..
In the Finder...
Cmd-F..
Change the search setting to Created date (or modified) is within last 2 days...

you might have renamed it too... so a search for any changed file in last x days without specifying the filename is best...

ok, tried everything.. nada.
this topic should be changed to "murphy was very wise"..

Yep, having files and apps magically disappear from a MacBook running Leopard. It's not happening on the MacBook Pro.

Have you tried Apple Support site for discussions on vanishing files?

(I'm liking Time Machine, in conjunction with Retrospect)

I guess you didn't have auto save turned on (if you're running CS3)?
