Quick drop-in news script

  I am about to be building a site for a client, and rather than a full CMS, it requires a very simple latest news page, that shows simple text-only news entries + has a simple admin interface to add content.

  So what I would like to know, is can any of you lovely designers recommend me a good system, flat-file/xml please, that would be simple and quick to implement, and for end-user.
