For some reason my 'Save for Web' using Photoshop CS2 has gone all screwy.
When I go through the process, the preview in the save for web wine (powered by Imageready'), the colours look completely different.
Anyone know what could be wrong?

Try switching off your colour settings (Don't colour manage). Should solve your problem. :)

covert your images to sRGB (dont assign)

use Adobe 98 as your RGB color profile

If I fill my background with r: 125 g: 104 b: 75 (an olive/'brown color) and then do a save for web, the resultant image is a dull brown/tan.
This is the first time I have noticed such a dramatic difference. Is this just the particular colour or have I farked something up?

Sorry, it was r: 177 g:155 b:108 not the above

what lumedia said - convert your image to srgb. don't assign. should get rid of your problem.

Thanks Sikma...how do I do that?

Edit
Convert Color Profile
Select the Working Space of srgb and Convert
Then try saving for the web and see if this solves your problems.

No joy...what the heck!
Very frustrating.
- Turn off colour management in prefs, open your image assign profile none, then check your proof setup.monoboy

Are trying to save as a .gif or .jpg? If .gif, increase the number of colors used to create the file (32, 64, 128, 256, etc.). If .jpg, save it as higher quality.

- OK...If I open this in a web browser, the colors appear brownish. If I open in Photoshop, they are completely different.********
