How fast is your Internet connection and irrespective of the max speed available from your ISP would you like it to be faster?

Not fast enough, and yes I want it harder, better, faster, stronger.

> 6mb, which is for the most part fine for my needs.
What pisses me off is that it drops to 7kb in the evening, and Virgin (*chhhaut, SPIT*) cheerily admit they're powerless to do anything about it, whilst not letting me out of my contract without a 'fine' as they .. well.. I don't know how they justify it.

My connection is slow. I don't know the details, but we thought we had high speed for the longest time until my dad checked it out and realized we didn't get the appropriate speeds. Turns out we can't get high speed in our area, but Bell was still charging us because we wanted that plan (but they didn't think it was important to inform us that we wouldn't be getting higher speeds). Damn Bell and every other company. We live in the suburbs, not in the sticks.

Ok, since everyone else is giving real answers!
4mb at home and 6mb in work, its not great but I've seen posters up advertising the future of high speed internet in ireland as 8mb, imagine the speeds we can look forward to!

I use this to test my speed every so often. http://reviews.cnet.com/7004-725…
It is usually between 4 and 6 mb down. I 'm on comcast, can't remember what they claim the speed should be, but I'm happy with what I have.
