Leighs toy IS a beast, id seen photos of that model online before he posted it up. never thought it would be as big as it is for some reason.
Yeah the Archos certainly FEELS the part anyway - very well built.
I've got to fully charge it before using it the instructions say so unfortunately i've not has a chance to play with it yet.
Maybe thats a good thing though as i'd never have got any work done today at work if i was able to play with it straight away.I'm hoping its a crap rainy and cold weekend so that it gives me an excuse to be a hermit, stay in and play with my toy and fill it with my entire music collection of mp3s and cds :)

update:
i've been grounded these past 3 days with a hellish cold so over the weekend and yesterday (i took a day off work) i have put about 300 cd albums onto my Archos - what a chore but something ive been wanting to do for ages.
still to go are compilation and mix albums - probably another 100-200.Archos is amazing, screen resolution for web surfing is CRACKIN!

what video formats does it play? can you stream from a central server?

mp4 and avi i know for sure, check out the spec from link above for filetypes and yes you can play stuff thats streaming from a computer via wifi.
