Whose brilliant farking idea over at Adobe was it to make InDesign CS3 files unable to open with CS2? Seriously. WTF? Are they strange in the head?

So when you have clients on both CS3 and CS2 you send indd-files to regularly, ONE person needs TWO computers running separate versions of the same software? FFS.

You can save an inx file from CS3 that CS2 can open

save them down to CS2 on the CS3 computer, you n00b....

The same chump that thought no-one would want to open a CS document in CS2. You have to save it as an an Interchange file.

You can run CS2 and CS3 on the same computer. I have to do the same myself, I do everything in CS3 then save as an Interchange doc, then open up in CS2 to check everything's ok.

Surely you can back-save though.. I mean, I agree with you that they're total wankers for doing that, but can't you Save As and have a slightly less irritating time of it?
I'm still on CS1. I have CS2 and CS3 sat in uncracked cellophane on my shelf. I never find the confidence to install them and every time I read of yet another bug/fuck-up/frustration I thank my lucky stars I only have to deal with the moronic bullshit that comes with CS1.

It's under export not save as but it has the same effect.
Export > Indesign interchange documnet > Open in CS2BIt of a pain and not totally reliable but workable.

co-sign on weave's comment.
It work's very well from the few times i've sent it one out, but yeah should have done version saving like in illustrator.
