Had a co-worker go to a tradeshow recently. A client accidently spilled a cup of water on it.
She did everything apple told her to do. She has had the computer up and running, but today all she gets is the slow flashing white light. There is no screen activity or computer activity.
She is trying to shut it down to restart from the disk. We have held down the power button for a good 30 seconds, tried taking the batter out, unplugged and plugged it back in.
Should we just take out a sledge hammer or can anyone offer any kind of suggestion to help recover some files from the tradeshow?
Thanks in advance.

The hard drive is probably salvagable, if you have someone who is manually dextrous. Check out http://www.ifixit.com for instructions.
- so do you doubt there is anything we can do at this point without professional help unless we go with ifixit?rodzilla

I'm amazed that the computer is still alive
