Thought i'd post this up for criticism on the photography (not the flickbook thankyou).

I'm thinking of getting this made into one of those books from Blurb.com.
Anyone had any experience with them? good quality?

Some really beautiful images on there. Every once in a while I see one that I think "a professional editor would take that one out" but I'm not that person so I'm most likely wrong... over all, really very evocative and interesting photos.
Never used Blurb. My girlfriend's brother got a book done via Apple's book service and the results from that were really really nice.

Just print it out yourself and get it bound properly....much more satisfying!

i heard blurb is very good at printing photobooks, plus they offer some sweet formats. why not?

yet, the best would be, hexachrome printing.
in that case, since that is too expensive, you should print it out yourself using six colours and have it bound, or learn to bind yourself..

cheers vrmbr. and DaveO yeah id love to do something special but it would cost a fortune to get it printed like that.
the good thing about Blurb is that it would only cost me about £18 per book and thats whether i wanted 1 book or 10 books.one of the features on their site is that they have a shop that they will sell your book from. this means you dont have to make loads of copies of your book, theyl print them to order when someone orders - they also allow you to add profit to the overall cost.
Definitely going to give their services a go.

Nice - but that book format thing annoys me - especially since you have a gutter shadow over your images.

moth,
well i was going to put all the images on a horizontal slider but i wanted to present some of the images "together" and couldnt have done this as a big long scroller as all the images are there.for what i wanted to do - demonstrate to myself how this would work as a book before going ahead and making one - i think this works quite well.
