Afternoon Guys,
Just wondering if anyone could help me out. I have been asked to be best man for a friend and was looking at doing something a little different for the speech. Basically my idea was to create a timeline of the guys life up to the point of meeting his missis. I was guna do this in a cartoon style animation of him just walking along the bottom of the screen and have certain funny things happen to him along the way. It would end on them meeting blah blah just wondering if anyone knows of, or could do some simple cartoon style ills for me? and how much it would cost?
this is a kinda style I was looking at.
ps I have approached the Illustrator who did the exmaple above but seems to be way out of my budget.

well youre not just asking for an illustration then are you? youre asking for frame by frame animation, hand-drawn animation, even stylized animation is going to be expensive, even if you cut corners abit and use after effects or flash to loop movments, its still going to be quite a project. someone who not only has the stylistic expertise but also has an eye for gestures and movement is going to be even more expensive. if it was just some ills id say youd probably get a number of relatively inexpensive quotes. its the whole animation thing thats going to set you back.
or have i misunderstood?
good luck to you, sounds cool, but expensive

All I was after was the ills as I have someone who can do the animations.

Maybe just do stick figures with a photo of his face taped on. And in photo-motion. real cheapo like, but supposed to be. Could be just as funny, and way more doable.

what you need is some ills of the character with every segment to animate individually separated. I think that is your best option so your friend can use and animate the different parts. but it's hard work nonetheless... (mouth closed, mouth open, mouth speaking 1, mouth speaking 2, mouth speaking 3, arm stretched, arm wathever, etc..)
good luck, sounds a cool project. post it here after if you manage to do it.

You could create some simple looping animation with After Effects. Or if someone has ToonBoom Studio.
