anyone have a solid solution for creating reflections in a green screen environment?
currently, we shoot the talent and then through code create the reflection. but this creates a slightly unnatural look as the bottom of people's feet don't actually sync up to the true bottom of the reflect.
can this be done on set or is there a better way in post or code?
thanks,
b

You should use a green screen with an elevated glass floor. With 24" of below feet area to shoot up from, you can rig up a second Cam (can be a cheap dig-cam as long as the lens is the same diameter) at the base of your main cam's tripod/stand and shoot upward to get the reflection at the right angle. Only way to do it. Works for handheld too if you make a floating rig to hold both cameras.

Might be an answer in one of these?

Oh, for left, right or above reflections just stick a piece of polished glass in. The differences in tone caused by the reflection will be picked up perfectly for dropping directly into scene without requiring hardly any processing ( a bit of feathering maybe but thats all)

sorry. reflections on the floor. directly below the person.

bucky you guys using the bitmap data class to have the flv reflect itself and thats not matching up?

As per my first post then. Second cam below false glass floor shooting up with the same diameter lens.

I'd be interested to see the quality of a key taken from such a huge green screen field. They're really hard to light in one direction, let alone two or three.

Here is an example I created modifying some code found while messing with slideshowpro: http://www.mighty55.com/test/ref…
