That's a CRAZY story Spookytim!! You pretty much summed up what I would hate to experience on a holiday! Really gave me second thoughts about the whole visit.
Also, how are the roads connecting Marrakech and Casablanca? Yes, we'll be going by car... part of an 8000 mile(!!) road trip. (Are carjackings common in Morocco?)

I have been recommended Fez by a few people. Not too commercial and not everyone is trying to sell you stuff...

marrakech -> casablanca
goes through pretty rough terrain, think winding roads up and down mountainsides. I've done that route while it was pooring with rain, in the back of a bus, which lost it's rear window by backing up into another bus... ahh, the memories!

Jawks, my story seems to contradict a lot of other experiences here, but I put it up there as a true account, so if like me you absolutely HATE that kind of experience, at least you know there is a degree of risk of experiencing something like that. It sounds like many others have had a really great time in Morrocco though, so don't let my horror story over-rule your thoughts!. There is some beautiful scenery and amazing experiences, but I've seen better scenery is more conducive places personally.

^ To tell you the truth, it's more the joy in being able to say that I've been to a new continent than a strong urge to actually *go* there. (although Tangier does look nice in the pictures). I truly despise people pulling your arm on the street (my girlfriend gave a pimp a nice, hard bitchslap when we were in Thailand when he asked right infront of her if I wanted a ladyfriend, LOL)
