    Happy thursday,

I've got a website in the queue for a retail store, and we're going to be implementing a sort of slideshow along with the standard content on the main page. I've got a good friend to do all the back end programming, and we're trying to sort something out.

Basically we're creating a really basic CMS for these guys to allow them to post to their blog, upload images, and add images to the slideshow.. Would it be easier all in all to create the slideshow with flash, or as recommended by my backend friend (ew..not like that) javascript? Input and tips would be great! Free consultation contest!

    • Ouu that looks nice.. How customizable is that. I want it stripped down completely, no menu. it's more to showcase random new products.brains
    • yup. i got it working just as a loader on a couple of sites and with a full CMS (director) client can upload whatever..

no, i do not think it would be. control the content and associated tags to said content w/ the CMS. that is what it is therefore. otherwise, it is islands of content that is both disparate, and effectively hidden in any sort of SEO cohesiveness

you could mod slideshow pro, or with a custom flash wrapper as well, but def. hook it to the data feed the CMS will undoubtedly provide for you.

Use slideshow pro and make your CMS dynamically generate xml files for it.
