Jersey is nice.
But you have to live here for 12 years before they let you buy a place.
Not that you'd be able to afford a place. Average 2 bed house is now 420k stirling.
Plus you need an actual job before they let you in. And companies have to apply for licenses for you to work. Like dogs.
And we 'do' pay tax here. Despite what people think.
And you have to get on a boat or a plane to get anywhere which also costs a fortune.I'm moaning aren't I?

I come from Manchester and have lived in Waterford, Ireland for near enough the last 2 years and I am now planning my return to Manchester, because it's too quiet!
Ireland to be honest is not the greatest for design and especially not for music, unless you like a lot of soft singers or Irish folk.
Manchester and London have been by far the greatest I have lived and worked, either is great, but I would say the Manchester nightlife and music scene is the best so move there.
Yeh and don't move to Birmingham!

Just move to Lisbon. In comparison, everything is half-priced or more; especially your income.
- upside: we have proper food and dignifying drinking habits.********

Don't ask their opinion non. Invariably they'll say anything to put you off from your idea. With a few exceptions, Britons don't usually appreciate foreigners in their land.
- Especially the English.********
- Corvo is just trying to make sure you don't go to Portugal.Jaline
- Ok I get it, J. I sometimes (*ahem) loose myself in my own sick twisted sordid sense of humour.********
- fact is you got it. So did I.********
- Especially the English.

Live in the countryside and work in the city. I have been here for nearly four years and love it, even with the cost of living, the horrible food, a little bit of rain and the heat in the tube. hahaha. Best city in the world!

Gotta say I love the B. Isles and Ireland (I studied in a british-run school). I would move there IF I was invited somehow for a few years. Not otherwise. I don't think I'd ever accept that "immigrant" status they're running right now.

Tout a fait, for a Québecois i'd push my way into Switzerland. You can reach at least 3 countries in a rush, and dive quickly into northern Italy, which is one of the most interesting places on Earth. Enough said.

corvo you are an ignorant idiot.
- A foreign one, at that.detritus
- no I'm not. I just read between YOUR lines you silly.********
- If you prove me wrong I will apologize.********
- but somehow I don't think you can do it.********
- Well anyway that's just my op. It doesn't feel comfortable moving to the UK right now. Can you say otherwise?********
- You're just used t unleash your bombastic statements and let them run as some sort of truth, don't you? well they're not.********
- anyway, try not to call me an idiot again. I really resent that coming from you.********
