paso please STFU and stop trying to sound like a 'local', it's not the great fire of london why the fuck would it affect the marathon let alone koko which is like what - 2 miles away?
ps this was probably started by developers who have been trying to get the market 'refurbished' for years now - this is the perfect way for them to replace the arches with shitty glass monstrosities to accomodate the Gap and every other high st brand that has been wanting a piece of the action. Totally lame.
- What a pointless thing to get irate over - how many months did it take for you to achieve this fabled local status?detritus

See?
Detritus did it.
He's such a bad Habibi.

It's because I'm such a negative, hateful person, see?

Heh, last night was slightly amusing though - all the calls from friends and family, enquiring as to whether I was down in Camden and "was I alright?". 9/11 has a lot to answer for.
The Sky News (*spit*) coverage was ludicrous - I turned on the telly to see what was happening, missed the Beeb coverage, so watched Sky for 5 minutes as the news man confirmed, "yes, yes,it is the Hawley Arms.. blah blah.. ".. yup, got that - Hawley Arms, you say?.. "Hawley Arms.. blah.. Amy Winehouse.. blah blah.. Hawley Arms.. Hawley Arms.. Hawley Arms.. Hawley Arms.. Hawley Arms" - all I could think about where the poor schmos up in Aberdeen watching the news and thinking "Whit th'fuck do I care aboot a pub fire in London?"

I spent many years living in Chalk Farm, Kentish and Belisize Park and spent at least one night a week and one weekend a month drinking in Camden and for the life of me I cannot remember where the Hawley Arms is or what it looks/looked like.
I doubt this would be a deliberate developer's arson job. Imagine the amount of hardware and preperation that would have to go into ensuring the whole area burned down nicely without leaving a trace of foul play. Its not like torching a single building is it.
I've no doubt that the area will become bland glass retail boxes in time, but I think that will be a case of exploiting the disaster after the event rather than orchestrating it in the first place.
- SP: 'Belsize'... a freudian slip. Its your fault detritus.********
- Oh Ha, I thought I'd put BELLSIZE, hence the Freudian slip, but I'd ...********
- actually put BELISIZE which sounds like Belly size, which, is, the...I... oh never mind.********
- lol, you fat bastard.detritus
- Hmm. I don't know you well enough to call you that. Still
*points, laughsdetritus

I don't know - I had a wee stall in that market years ago, and saw how much flammable shit was stored all around the place and the storage rooms that are hidden 'round back.
The Hawley's that green one - I think it was tarted up a couple of years back - I only really remember it as a skanky old man's pub where you could score pot.
Besides, neoCyberGoths and Spaniards are highly flammable.
