these guys are ridiculously good. probably the best ive seen in the business.
how much would you estimate they charge for just one of those advertisements?

$684.23 each.
2 for $1k.

i do not understand, TJ does not make 'advertisements'. are you asking what they would charge you, vague, to retouch and/or implement the creative direction you were after on a photo made somewhere?
- vague0
exactly.

I would imagine that projects would not begin south of €50000.00 and depend on number of artifacts generated.

this is what i projected.
so the question, for these higher-end production shops. take their first case study (heineiken). you can see just how many stock photos are used for this.
do you estimate every single element in the piece was photographed by them? (random people pushing, stragglers in the background), or would a company like this be permitted to simlpy purchase stock photos and manip them? or do you suppose the ad. agency provides them with all of these random elements and say "go".

i would laugh hard if stock imagery was *ever* considered. it is all shot on location, to spec, by a photog specializing in that subject/style matter; the campaigns and their results are worth to much to the brands to think otherwise.
i also do not think TJ shoots a single frame, nor art directs the shoot(s) in any way. they are briefed on the CD by agency handling the account to prep/consider what they will be doing, etc. in the end, they are a rediculously talented and smart production shop.
personally, i wish there were more shops that did as they; know what they do best and fucking rule it. results speak for themselves.

Thanks for the link, Vague - I'm loving their Case Studies.
Nothing better than drooling over someone else's process..

why would you assume TJ is incapable of photographing themselves? and if you dont assume that, why imply that they -shouldnt-? must everything in the pipeline be so damned detached and modular. it seems they would be 100% capable of handling every single aspect of the production.

"must everything in the pipeline be so damned detached and modular."
see, and for a second i thought you were onto a nice conceived thread topic. had to go in a screw it up with that statement.
