Can somebody show me an example of a website where the logo is just ridiculously clumsily big?

can't help you with an example, but try one more time talking them down from the ledge. Tell them if it were the same thing, every car maker would put a 2 foot x 3 foot logo on the hood of even the most expensive cars. Ask them how they think it would look. (like shit) of course, that's why they dont do it. A logo compliments the car, not defines it. Same with a site ( or whatever else you're designing)

Why not take a screen shot of a good well built site with a decent size logo then do another version with same site, only logo at 300% or something, kinda like a before and after?
