I've been steeped in thought about the purpose of the recent threads "why I deleted my Myspace account" and "Why I never opened a myspace account in the first place" which just sends you back to the first thread.
I'm fairly certain the thread is there only to make us click the link. I just found this article on New Scientist. Maybe this is old hat, I'm not technologically advanced and I'm not web-stuff savvy so forgive me if I'm alerting you to the dangers of medieval catapults...

Don't keep hanging on to that old chestnut. Macs didn't used to be targets for virus attacks only becuase of the economy of scale. It was a waste of time writing virus for macs becuase they couldn't propagate beyond the tiny user base. Macs are more commonplace, the proportion of macs vs PC in critical positions are evening out and macs are now being targetted.
There's something deeply puzzling about those Myspace threads.

which is why you should be familiar with ad-aware, spybot, and trendmicro for scanning your computer. doit at least everymonth, or whenever you do your backups.
