I've been wondering why there weren't any Czech regulars on nt/qbn. Or were they? Any Slovaks here?
I always loved this Ladislav Sutnar showcase:

These are usually good reminders of great Czech typographic tradition:

And I hope this 70's Czechoslovakian TV classic does fit right in here (there's English lyrics if you expand text):

Maybe they still have a coherent artistic community? :P

Have you got a Czech background Raf?
I lived in Prague 1977 to 1980 as a nipper. My pop worked for the British embassy and we lived in a district called Podoli. This clip doesn't ring any bells but I seem to remember a programme called Vecjerniczec that I watched regularly. Always loved the czechs though. Went back about 10 years ago and had an amazing time. Beautiful city, great people, hot girls and cheap beer. What else do you need for a great holiday.
A few photos and sketches I took when I was last there.

I am Polish and was born in a city located about 150km from both Czech and German borders. There were a lot of Czechoslovakian (united at that time) films on TV, also we could catch their TV with a good antenna. Funny Czech people I meet in Ireland now say they watched Polish television.
I regret not going to Praha more often when I lived so close, it is a great city.
Nice pics and sketches there JR!

have seen this, raf? Absolutely stunning animation. The main producing studio (stage) is Polish, i think.
