So I got a PS3, since it plays blu-rays, and I thought my daughter would like the games.
Anyway, I'm strolling through the owner's manuals, and it says the PS3 can damage projection TVs.
How can that be?

Burn-in? i.e. lack of screensaver? That would affect plasma too though.

Thats just in to cover Sony's ass I reckon as it's been in the manual of every console back to the PS1 (maybe before that but I don't know for sure). Static images on screen will burn into the screen if it's left idling at a screen for very long periods of time but if you're going to leave it idling for that long you may as well turn off the TV anyway.

That has been in the owner's manual of every game console since the Intellivision.
Stationary graphics displayed for hours and hours and hours can cause burn-in. The threat of this happening because of a modern, 3d videogame is minimal at best.

hey where's that black & white graphic/chart where it tell you which system to buy? I'm thinking about buying something, but I haven't had one since SNES.

Antonelli,
Unless your a hard core gamer with loyalty to games that aren't available on ps3 I would suggest getting a ps3.
It has an amazing blu ray player, incredible game graphics, hdmi port for hd content.
I have both xbox360 and ps3 and I never use the xbox.
