I do as well... but with mix'd results... I bought this "THE SHOW" red wine ($11 bucks, ballin') with great screen printed look etc. - was awful however and turned to vinegar in a day...

If I dont know what wine I am chooseing, I'll consider the label and bottle design in my decision. I am usually swayed towards wine with more traditional labels.
- yup i'm on the same page.
horton - yeah.. only bought a "designer" labelled wine once, but that was only as the nae was fitting to the occasion..********
- nae = name********
- yup i'm on the same page.

i generally avoid any loud or gimmicky labels when trying new wines... would be interesting to know if they really work for some people.

I think those labels work for people who don't know much about good wine.. Not to sound like a snob but if I didn't care about wine I would probably go for a bottle with a zipper on it.
- I've tried two of those shown... both are not good... One being the zipper brand, forgot the name at the wine crush in chicago... It's almost got a spicey peppery taste...********

first of all, wines with screw on tops shouldn't exist and neither with those crappy fake corks (plastic)!
*pretty please? my nation depends on that export!
- disagree 100%. in fact, corks are a condition of the last 150 years only, and under many, many circumstances, not needed.madirish
- needed.
also, your country has pleeded to slow down the export of cork, as most is endangered now.madirish - but...but...but...menos
- sorry but that cork vs. screwtop vs. plastic discussion is so over... cork lost.horton

10 cane rum has award winning packaging and works for me mojito style... Overall, wine packaging is usually gimmicky... Getting ready to be briefed and find out what the name of the wine I will be working on is called and taste like... I'll probably not be returning until I am sober... Thanks for all the links...
