I have a dell at work and I have this issue. I leave my monitors on most of the time but I have a screen saver that comes on regularly but I had some of my last wallpaper burned into my monitor, but I changed the image and it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore it's very weird

Ghosting? Does that mean a faded duplication of the image? If so, I've not heard of it - if you're referring to light bleed from the backlight, then yes - Dells are quite susceptible. I went through a couple before settling on one that wasn't TOO bad - there have been at least two other QBNers who've been in the same boat.
It's not killer unless you always use very black screens.
I mean, it's not killer considering how cheap the monitors are.

ghosting is the screen not refreshing correctly.. it can be a smeary trace of an image or like a visual "echo" of whatever is moving
the light bleed thing is a whole new mess for me to research, thanks haha

I've had 4 and a laptop. All are fine. Laptop display has a little bleed, but you only notice it with a solid colored background.

I have this problem on my cinema display, it's really annoying when you want to color correct a file

I have ghosting on my dell 2007WFP when used via VGA with my old dell laptop (only). No problems with macbook's DVI though, nice and crisp.

The Dell Ultrasharp series don't use TN panels, as they're the lower grade panels. The Ultrasharps use the VA panel, which is a higher quality LCD. Dell's lower grade LCD's use the TN's, like the 248WFP's.
- One of the reviews at Dell says the new 2208 ultrasharps are using a TN panel, and not an ISP, which the price suggestjoyride

I noticed ghosting happening on an older Dell LCD I have. I bought a 20" widescreen about 4 or 5 years ago and it's doing it now. I'd have to go dig around it for the model number. I have 2 Dell 2007WP 24" LCDs here at the "studio" and they are both running like a charm on their respective MacBook Pros.
