iPod DVD ripper

I've been trying to convert contents of a DVD for my iPhone with Handbrake, but the files I am getting look and sound like scrambled TV. The disc plays ok otherwise. Is there some other free software you could recommend? Mac or Windows, doesn't matter.

Just work out what you're doing with HandBrake incorrectly... its really good when you get the hang of it... perhaps try another DVD... PS Are you on a mac or pc... funny feeling the pc doesn't allow for copy protected discs

It is HandBrake on a mac, thing is it works fine with other DVDs. It is an US DVD, but my drive is region-free and the disc plays well.

Is it the latest handbrake for Leopard? It does have iphone presets now.

0.91 - the latest. The problem is in decoding rather than encoding. If I go to picture settings (cropping, deinterlacing), the preview frames look scrambled already
