I don't want a guitar amp that gnaws my foreskin off.

"100% new-old-stock (NOS) tubes. Types never seen in guitar amps."
That is 100% completely untrue. You can buy new-old-stock tubes from a few places on line, and guaranteed there are boutique amp makers using exactly that. That is an outrageous claim by what looks like an interesting amp maker.

mg33,
I think what they're trying to say is the types of tubes they use are not ones used in other amps.
Plus they use a hell of a lot of them! 21 tubes in one amp? Hell, 21 tubes is more than what were in most old tube TVs!

Is it "the more tubes the better amp" or just "we have more tubes than anyone" sounds awesome?

I'll stick to my custom built GTs. While I support experimentation, having good tone is a wonderful thing (especially if it's unique to you).

I need to take some photos of all my gear, but if we're talking guitar tone, my latest setup for my band's past several shows has been through my effects, in stereo, to:
1) Crate Vintage Club 30 all tube amp, 30 watts, 1 12" speaker
2) Fender Pro 185 solid state, 2 12" speakers, 185 watts (and loud as holy hell with the volume only on 2.Using both together gives me a really rich tone, lots of reverb used and it definitely sounds like there's more than one guitar involved. I love it, but I'm thinking of doing something different soon, moving away from the Fender because it's so loud. I totally cannot get rid of gear though, and currently have two of the Fender amps, the Crate, and a 30 watt Vox practice amp at home.
If I ever have the money, I'm after an Orange head for sure.

What do you use for grind?

- Ampegs are great. I get together and jam with a buddy who has old Ampeg, and I love playing that.
