Do you prefer the "Print" to be photographed, or a pdf with drop shadow?

i think it looks good. you do very nice work

I prefer photographed..
And I think as a potential client or employer browsing you work, having photographed pieces makes it seem more real.. Makes the pieces carry more weight.
But this is only if you have quality photographs of the work.. Which seems so in your case..

Thank you guys. I got it!

Here's an option: take photographs, then combine them with the digital files. For an example take a pic of a spread then wipe the page clean in photoshop and place your digital file on that. touch up to make it look real.

I am looking at your site, "play". Did you do that on yours too?

In terms of quaity photographs.. they do look good quality but obviosuly shot with a small gauge compact lens as there is some fisheye at the edges. Its possible to correct that in Photoshop with a mesh distort to counter the bend. Then they will look like mediim format super flat parallel shots.

That is a good idea..
Another suggestion is to give the photographed works more dimension..
If it's it a book or folded brochure, don't try to get it as flat as possible.. Let the pages curve a bit so you get shadow.. It it is a single piece of paper try making a rough stack of them..
Anything that shows dimension is a nice added detail that makes the piece seem more real to the viewer..

Sadly I don't know. I am stuck on CS1 and that doesn't have it. I have CS2 and 3, both sat on my shelf, and I know its on one of them becuase I am constantly tring to weigh up the pros and cons of installing the upgrades.
- You're kidding right?! You haven't upgraded to 2 yet! Let alone 3!!!JerseyRaindog

if you have a (apple-t) transform box running in cs2 there is a warp-mode button in the settings-bar (where you adjust angels etc for transformation) click it to get a mesh - click it again to go back to classic free transform. and yes: photos. and yes: nice work!

Photos are definitely preferable. I haven't really got any on mine. It's all pdfs with drop shadows or fake '3D' style photographs. But only do that if it looks real enough.

I know someone going to UofArts in Philly, for film. How've you liked it so far? Oh, and I definitely prefer photogrPHS.
- This is my last year. And I love my department. Unfortunately, most of my good teachers are retiring soon. Like Inge Druckrey and Hans... if you know them.puilamyung

there is a typo on your "a snapshot" under work in progress, line 6 it says high-calss instead of high-class

now that we're on this, i find it quite hard to shoot printed material (books/mags particularly)... what are some of your tips?
