He had concluded that he had a better chance of winning a multi-million dollar lottery (without actually buying a ticket) than he did of having a single perfectly good day. In fact he was certain that on the day that he won that lottery, he was as likely as not, to keel over and die. Just like that. No prior heart condition required.
