Has anyone used multiple internet printers? I've used overnight prints and have now just placed an order with 4by6 for satin cards. Has anyone here had experience with the difference in quality between 4by6, overnight prints and vista print or others?

I've used 4by6 for a lot of really low cost, quick and easy bc and promo card jobs for clients. Usually Satin finish. For what you pay, it's decent stuff. If color accuracy is of utmost importance, then you're not going to be happy.
- too bad there is a higher price for other people's cheap and poor choices, while they state that they are creative problem solver. etc.akrokdesign

With overnightprints I can say I like the rounded corners option, UV finish and the low cost. The colors did not seem that accurate and the flat color was kind of grainy looking. You can't beat the price though. I haven't got my 4by6 satin yet so I can't compare. I'll post the results later though.

Modern Postcard does a pretty good job. Not bad prices.
- correct me if I am not wrong, you picked a printer who are around 2,269 miles away from you.akrokdesign

I don't remember it was whatever resolution they required. At least 300dpi. This time they were vector eps.

yes, here's 5 reson why not use virgin paper, i.e. paper which has no recycled content.
1. The nature of forests and where they are situated. As the demand for paper has increased, more timber has been needed to meet the demand for wood pulp. In some cases this has meant the loss of valuable wildlife habitats and ecosystems, as old forests have been replaced by managed plantations, usually of fast-growing conifers. The lack of tree species diversity in managed forests has a direct impact on the biodiversity of the whole forest.
2. By using waste paper to produce new paper disposal problems are reduced.
For every tonne of paper used for recycling the savings are:
+ at least 30000litres of water
+ 3000 - 4000 KWh electricity (enough for an average 3 bedroom house for one year)
+ 95% of air pollution.
3. Producing recycled paper involves between 28 - 70% less energy consumption than virgin paper and uses less water. This is because most of the energy used in papermaking is the pulping needed to turn wood into paper.
4. Recycled paper produces fewer polluting emissions to air (95% of air pollution) and water. Recycled paper is not usually re-bleached and where it is, oxygen rather than chlorine is usually used. This reduces the amount of dioxins which are released into the environment as a by-product of the chlorine bleaching processes.
5. Paper is a biodegradable material. This means that when it goes to landfill, as it rots, it produces methane, which is a potent greenhouse gas (20 times more potent than carbon dioxide).

I thought I'd post my results from the 4by6 cards.
They look great. The color is very accurate. Although they are more expensive they are much more accurate than the cards I got from overnight prints. They also don't have the speckles, reddish tone and grainy look that the cards from overnight prints had.
The satin finish also looks and feels very nice.
They don't do rounded corners as of now but I bought a round corner puch to do them myself any way I want or not at all.

4x6 stuff we just got in was pretty good, not fantastic.. had some good and some bad results with orange32.com.. if its good, thats cool.. but if you have to call them about a job the pull the 'long island' attitude on you..
