I doubt there's any rule of thumb for this, but a client of mine has spent around £5k booking a few weeks of MPU ads on major UK music websites. For the campaign, I designed the flash ads and matching minisite. I know it's like asking how long is a piece of string, but what do you think a fair ratio of copy cost vs. the overall cost of the campaign would be? Advice greatly appreciated.

Yes, what should YOUR cut be of his media-placement budget. Am I the only one who thinks this is hilarious?

How about you price per hour using a competitive rate? No no, I forgot, you want the biggest piece of pie you can possibly get away with.

Yes, charge a fair rate for your time and the time you spent working on their project. That is it.

How about you build a new house, and rather than the plumber charging for his time/materials, he wants a fair portion of the whole house cost... not really right is it?
