I like handcoding inside of Smultron or Taco. They're free and have enough features without sucking the life out of my comp.

Hand script in dreamweaver.
I find it's tool useful but when is about coding, and as far as you go tableless, by hand is the only solution

Coda. Best of both?

I looked at Coda recently too :)
Generally I use DW with split view, I hand code in the code view half of the window but I'm a clumsy bastart so I can see in the design view half of the window when I've fucked up...

I use always use Dreamweaver, but I hand code in the 'code' or 'split' views also to clean up the code as much as possible...
...But this topic is one that pisses me off, as it seems to be a topic a lot of designers (or rather programmers) get really high and mighty about... Like if you don't hand code you don't know what you're doing or something (?) - I think thats bulls**t, if it looks great, is designed well and is easy to navigate, good SEO etc etc, then that's all the client's gonna care about, and that's what we're paid to do?! ...So :p
*sorry for the rant :)
- don't apologize for a valid rant... all i can say is 'hear hear!'. :)PonyBoy

I'm using Coda more and more, but still jump to Dreamweaver when it comes adding content, especially text. Since it's sooooo much easier to paste the text into a div, highlight certain bits and use the properties pallette to add classes, or links or whatever. Much easier to deal with tables too with DW (I know, I know, but I have to do quite a few html emails for newsletters - so css positioning is pretty out of the question for them).
I'm hoping as Coda matures though, there will be scope for making that side of things much easier than it currently is.

Why do people still pay for and suffer using Dreamweaver, design view is worthless and code view is a pretty poor HTML editor
