Looking for a cool, small-ish (32") flat screen TV. What should I get?
I used to be kind of tech-savvy back in the day, but with all of this new blu-ray, HD-dv-whatever stuff out there, I am completely lost.
What should I get that;
a) is awesome
b) looks awesome
c) I don't have to squint looking at from my bed ~8 ft awayxoxoxo

aquos is really nice. i have a samsung dlp that is superb. both are really sexy. pioneer has some really sick lcd and plasmas on the market right now. for picture considerations look at it's contrast and black levels. do some side by side comparisons at a large store, look at the color accuracy and viewing angles between tvs. if you need fast-moving video playback plasmas have the edge but plasmas can suffer from screen burn in. there are a couple threadz here talking about this subject. the absolute best 32" tv rated in november 07 was the Samsung LN-T3253H. it's 720p but experts say that the benefits of higher 1080p resolution are lost in a screen of this size. good luck dude.
- I have one of those Samsung DLPs, the one with LED lightsource. It's awesome.

Thanks buddy!
I was just e-window shopping a few minutes ago and the LN-T3253H got great reviews there too. Thanks for the heads up on what to look for! I'm so used to just ordering everything online that i didn't even consider physically walking into a store to see with my own eyes what looks good, LOL.

I just bought a 42" Philips w/ ambilight and I am loving it - they have a 32".
- how is the ambilight?! does it take away from the dark room experience in any way? looks cool.todelete__1
- it makes it easier on your eyes, HD in a dark rooms tends to make my eyes soreradar
- it def makes you feel more like your in a theatre with the glow/flicker of lightradar

I was going to do the same thing when I bought mine and I'm glad I didn't, the difference between sizes of the same model were really apparent. It's really huge to see them in person side-by-side. Me not being a videophile YET i only went with a 1080i tv but got a 55" model for the living room. your inquiry and this thread now have me really wanting a new tv for the bedroom cause we both seem to be having the same problem... getting older and squinting at the old 24" tv sitting 8 feet away. the samsung i posted above is being printed out and put in my hope chest. YES I HAVE A HOPE CHEST! DON'T JUDGE ME.

- there isn't much sexier than a woman with a 60" tv. unless it's a woman holding an ak-47 standing in front of one.todelete__1

*peer pressures k0na to also shop for a bedroom TV
Ironically, I also ought to get a new one for the living room - we have a 6 year old heavy-as-fuck B&O, but haven't sat out there more than twice after we moved in, so it's hard to justify it. But it looks cool ...
