Hi all:
I am wondering if anyone might know of a good tutorial that goes into a CSS rollover.
I am trying to do something similar to the "public voice" section here at QBN. I am building a recent news section that will contain the condensed news story. I want to have the background change slightly on mouse over. Like the public voice rolls. The text will be the link, but, I want the background to change color slightly. Sorry, I do not have any better examples of this other than the PV.
Thanks people.

well, I want only the background of the cell to change color. The test/link will change sue to my current a:. I am looking for a slight change in color to occur on roll. Not so much a list because I need to use tables on this site. Something that seems so simple......

a{
display:block;
width: 200px;
height: 2em;
}a:hover{
background-color: #CCC;
}?

aaahhh even better example. This very page/ What I am trying to do is almost exactly what is happening on this page. When you hover over each response, you get the dog ear at the bottom of each response. It is not a link, but is a roll. Make sense? Sorry for the vagueness, and thanks for all of your help.

so the link will have separate background color controls? i would just use the hover in a list item. why tables?

td:hover
{
background-color: #FF0000;
}...bear in mind this will make *every* TD *everywhere* in your site change colour when you hover over it. To do it only on certain cells, define a class for it and put the class on the cells you want it to happen on... or give only the table you want it to apply to a class (or ID).

Oh and... ideally, don't use tables for your layout anyway, it' not 1998 :)
