It's a good thing to keep an eye out for. I hadn't heard of this at all.

"hey all,
heading out of the country for a few weeks. just wanted to let everyone know that my house, located at 1254 mayfield ct. anywhere, ST 21221 (the 4th one on th right with the blue door), will in fact be empty. i left the light on on the porch to make it seem like someone is there, but no, i will be gone. the key is under the rock in the front yard. also the backdoor is open, just in case you cant find the key. i left my social security card, birth certificate and the pin numbers to all my bank accounts on the table in the kitchen. also my domain information and password should be written in big bold letters on a legal pad. hope no one steals anything. i'd hate to come home and find someone had stolen my identity or website domain for that matter, LOL.
ok i'm out. see you all in 3 weeks
--David"- this is the email i'm expecting that he sent before his vacation734

that article is kinda chock full of fail
in general, get in the habit of N*E*V*E*R clicking on anything in an email that leads to a weird site or anything financial/paypal/ebay related

sounds more like user error than a "hack"

speaking of interwebs trouble, I just installed the new OSX and now when a site loads in Safari, I still see the blue loading progress in the address space. Any ideas?
- I think it just does that?!Raniator
- it didn't do that before. What i mean is, when a site is done loading the progress bar still appears blue, like it stopped loading at around 80% but everything on the site has actually loaded. Nah' mean?gramme
- it doesn't do it on all websites :/gramme
- Ah, sorry. See what you mean. Not sure about that? Restart Safari?Raniator
- doesn't help >:|gramme

I don't think you have understood what happened. He had gmail open in his browser, which was attacked from a dodgy site. He didn't click on a dodgy link in an email.
- so he randomly went to a "hacked" site? im guessing he clicked on a link.kerus

Even if he fell into a trap, they're still crooks and he is still a victim. I don't see why people shouldn't get any sympathy when they've been abused.

That suuuuucks. I got hacked the day.... THE DAY of my wedding back in 2006 and I got a couple emails from some QBNers (NTers back then) about the hack. On my friggin honeymoon I had to basically go through what this dude did. I had a really stupid pw though so I guess it was kind of my fault. Never again. It's really a shitty feeling knowing there isn't jack shit you can do about it. At least the dude who hacked me only put his political shit on my homepage and didn't lock down the site or domain.

I don't see the trouble of reading your business e-mails on gmail since you can fwd and filter all your domain e-mail to a gmail account to grasp all your different activities. He doesn't specify what sort of account he had with clients. What does troubles me is that fucking chocolate-bar package in the middle of his plight. It reeks like a lil lousy whiny craving exposure whore.
