hehehe... been looking forward to this...
... the entire afternoon is nothing but press conferences.
Is anyone going to be fired?... probably not...
... pretty shitty that they're not letting the players know up front - apparently this report will be news to whoever is on it...
Yankees, I hear... are going to populate that list... but nobody from the Metz.
- SungRyan0
good, cheaters should be punished
- GreedoLives0
i'm kind of uncomfortable with the fact that mitchell is one of the directors of the red sox, think he's a bit too close to the action. i wish eric hinske was doing roids, get that atrocious batting average up...
- slinky0
there should be some kind of suspension for names on the list... fines? of course there will be players that will contest the results...
makes me sick of how many Orioles & former Orioles were on that list... I am praying Cal Ripken was not on it. :(
- I think there might be suspensions corresponding to what the penalties were when the transgressions occurred. Pretty lenient prior to 2004 IIRCRodimus79
- SungRyan0
yeah, he's the worst. a cheater and a sellout.

Add Mark Prior to that list. Pudge is almost a lock.
- dude...proof is hes not a pudge any more...hes thin cuz hes off the juice!!!Fightingforart
- PonyBoy0
I'm not surprised by Clemens... he's in his mid 40's and still throwing major heat...
... funny... i always thought it was his going to the Yankees that made him an asshole... turns out it may just be roids. :)
- A lot of this has to do with conditioning too and how he throws the ball. His delivery is very nice on the arm/joints.k0na_an0k
- ... uh huh. :)
He went to the Yankees... he's evil. IDontCareWHATUSay!!PonyBoy - haha. Not saying anything. I thought he was a sell-out. I had a lot more respect for him pre-Yankee.k0na_an0k

Personally, I don;t follow baseball... but for those of you who do: DO you really think this is going to change anything?
I mean steroids have been rampant in baseball for a long ass time, "outing" the players who are obviously using (like Mark McGwire and that giant freak of nature from the A's) - is that going to stop the problem?
Suspensions? I heard a thing on the news coming in to work that one of the players already facing a 15 game suspension just signed a 36 million deal - so the teams obviously don't see getting busted for steroids as a liability... so that begs the question, what's the point?
- The funniest thing... they're targeting baseball. What about football or any of the other major sports. It's laughable...k0na_an0k
- ... and disturbing that congress is spending so much time on this. It's steroids. In baseball...?k0na_an0k
- the apple pie is tainted...GreedoLives
- _niko0
what a fucking disgrace, hang them all.
- GreedoLives0
i think it's gonna change things for the long-term, not for the present, really. They'll institute tighter drug screening procedures, but people on that list are gonna get a slap on the wrist (what is it now, 15 game suspension or something?)
Plus, they'll find a new way to cheat in no time...
- k0na_an0k0
The players get tested more than you think, and its not just for steroids. There is a huge list of shit they can't take, including some over the counter stuff you can find at your local walgreens. The 5 hour energy drink is considered a banned substance.
- _niko0
It's all bullshit, why does the ioc have the balls to suspend athletes for life and strip their records and medals?
- GreedoLives0
As of right now, though, teams get a 1 day notice of imminent drug testing... i bet that'll go away soon.
- flashbender0
yeah - totally agree on the baseball vs. other sports issue. If the gov't really cared about this, they'd look at all sport and come up with a plan to address the issue as a whole not sport by sport.
- Problem is, there's a huge pile of money in sport, money = powerful lobbyGreedoLives
- well, yeah I get that. And that's kind of my point... this is all really just mastyrbation and nothing is really going to change.flashbender
- change. damn notes.flashbender
