is there a way to open up drop actions in PS to edit them? I have to pick up some stuff for someone at work while they're out, and need to redirect the save folders, etc.

In Image Ready at least you could open them, or at least drag them into the pallete (or open them through the pallette menu, and then edit in the pallette, then save). You can double-click on each step of the Action in the pallette to set options (including stuff like resizing to width or height that you might not have seen when you made the Action)
