Depends on your target audience (ie what email client is being used to recieve them)
But to be safe always use Tables.
I am sure you know about campaignmonitor.com's help area – excellent resource

Campaignmonitor is excellent.
Also see:
http://www.anandgraves.com/html-…- They started a standards group for email just recently. I don't know if it'll be effective but its good to know something is being done.leadtrum

I am warning you now -- beware of outlook 2007.
Seriously, look into this, you will soon be waving your fist in the air in anger. haha
oh yeah, and http://www.email-standards.org/ went up recently and is a good resource for some stuff

From what i know, it's still better to use tables if you want to make sure everyone will be able to read your email. Gmail for example doesn't support styles.
However, if you do find out it's possible and test it everywhere, i'd love to hear about it.
