Anyone got one?
Trying to decide between, this and 400D to produce amateur, but print ready images.
Any feedback welcome.

There's another G9 thread somewhere.

Weird it doesn't show up in Filter, anyways: http://www.qbn.com/topics/536865…

Thanks guys.
I guess manual focus may be the only thing i would have less control over. It seems to do everything else.

filter is not the most intuitive search feature. I've only gotten it to work correctly once.

it's a good camera but it's not going to give you depth of field control like a DSLR will. You can use it in a manual mode, but it's not nearly as nice to use as a DSLR

This might help you.

Plus, think about the expandabilty of an DSLR with the option of additional filters and lenses. You might not care about getting a fisheye lens now, or a 200mm telescopic, but you might want to go down that route when you get more comfortable with photography...

the g9 allows you to add some lenses to it...
- I fail again!kalkal
- Still though, the selection isn't as varied as someone might want...kalkal
- no of course not, but if someone would be interested in experiementing it could be a cheaper alternative and good beginning route...menos
- beginning route... i guess. I don't have one myself but am pondering about it too!menos
- It's a good intermediate camera. One step up from digital compact cameras and one step down DSLR.rabattski

Dpreview also comes in handy:
