Morning all,
Does anyone know if the following is possible.
I am in the process of setting up a html email to be sent to a subscribed mailing list - all addresses have been submitted by the users - so they do want these mails.I need to add an mp3 to the mailer as it is part of this months mailer. I have tried sending it the usual way ie: an absolute path to the server that the mp3 is on - but it only seems to work in the mail client for .mac - it isn't even registering in entourage (so I am guessing won't be showing in any of the others aswell).
Is there a way of including the mp3 in the mailer as opposed to sending it as an attachment or a link? or am I rephrasing the flash in html email question?
Frustrating thing is that the client receives a newsletter that does just this - he can click the play button and listens to the mp3 from within the email!!!!
Any ideas/suggestions please?

Don't think its possible to embed musc files in HTML email, something to do with Active-X plugin being stripped out or that...check here for a good guide to what is possible and whats not http://www.mailchimp.com/resourc…

I would say that you can't embed an mp3 into a e-zine because of the Active-X security issues, however if theres a play button does that just link up to an mp3 on a server somewhere and stream it from there as opposed to it being embedded into the html email?
This seems most likely but I've never tried it before... Let us know how you get on, its an interesting question.

thanks for the replies :-)
Appreciate the pointers - yes, maybe the play button would be the better option - certainly would be simpler

No worries, not saying thats the right way, just seems a way of doing it. But Im sure someone on here has had experience doing something similar to this. Best of luck with it!

Campaign Monitor's site has some great resources on what is/isn't possible or appropriate.
