Hi Guys,
I am coming to NY on Thursday for 6 days holiday and wondered if you could give me some advice on places to visit, restaurants to eat at and anything else you would advise doing.
Cheers

Jacque Imo's near the natural history museum if you like southern food.

Asian de Cuba on Madison Avenue makes some of the best food I have ever had. Worth a visit!

make sure to eat at the tiny little pizza shops. don't get trapped by four dollar slices at tourist traps. get chinese food in china town. avoid little italy (unless you can make it to the bronx to go to their little italy).
sushi lounge on 8th and A has the cheapest sushi ever (and you don't die from it)
what are you into? there's pretty much something for everything. i would check gothamist.com, freenyc.net, brooklynvegan.com for upcoming events. or grab a Metro NY or AMNY on any street corner

Was also wanting to go to Madison Square Gardens and catch a game of either Ice Hockey or Basketball on the weekend but seems really expensive for the good seats :(
- Rangers vs. NJ Devils on Sunday night will be worth it - great rivalry. Try ebay, stubhub, or newyorkrangers.com ticketexchange. You'll be able to get tickets for only $5-10 above face.spork
- good luck getting decent ranger tickets, season is practically sold outTheDrago

I agree - avoid Little Italy for food. Crap. For good ole' fashion Italian food go to Arthur Ave. in the Bronx.
For excellent Japanese food visit the new "Little Tokyo" area east of St. Marks.
The new Contemporary Museum of art just opened in the Bowery as well:

SoHo
5th Avenue (59th street down to the high 40s where Rockefeller center is)
Times Square
East Village
Lower East Side (good bars and that around Houston St. down to Delancey)
Williamsburg, Brooklyn (lots of restaurants/bars)abercrombie and american eagle are shit clothing. i don't get where europeans get that it is nice.

Abercrombie shit is pretty well made and a helluva lot cheaper than it is over here.
I'd only ever wear the polo shirts though.
I liked Coney Island for a day trip, bit of a trek from Manhattan but worth it for photos and general weirdness

everything i've seen come out of abercrombie is pre-distressed and already on its way to falling apart. plus it reeks of FIERCE, which associates drench the store in constantly.
i guess that's the same appeal fred perry has in thet states. here it's relatively expensive ($70-90 a polo) and relatively exclusive, but in england you can grab it at tj maxx and its preferred to rock with sweatpants or jeans tucked into yr socks chavvy style.

Guess so – A&C distressed stuff is shite, I just think they build better polo shirts than RL or FP or anyone else for that matter.

Gucci started their sale yesterday, but they been having pre-sale 2 weeks prior so all the good stuff are gone. You can still get stuff for 40% right now.
