  We have someone from asia in the office this week and I wanted to know something about customs...

  Basically I shook her hand when I was introduced to her, she hesitated a bit but then went for it. It was at this moment in time that I realized that where she is from they may not do this and may actually reel in terror from such contact.

  So, did I commit a faux pas?
