Animating backwards?

Hi,
I am animating some text. Just a path that I copied and pasted from illustrator. I am using the stroke effect in After Effects (7) to animate it. Everything is going fine except for the fact that it animates the letters in backwards. Basically its drawing them in from the wring side of the letter. Is there anyway I can reverse this? I don't see any thing to toggle this in the effects window? All the is happening really is that its starting the animation from the wrong side of the path. Is there anywhere I can specify which side of the path is the start and which side is the end? Thanks so much

Try on the Attributes Palette in Illi clicking the “Reverse Path Direction” buttons before you send the path to AE. You may need to have Tool Tips active to know which buttons those are.

thanks for the reply,
I tried what you suggested but the reverse path direction buttons are greyed out...not sure why...any other suggestion!?

yes you are choosing the wrong direction of your stroke simple fix,
I imagine you have end at 0 for your first keyframe then end at 100 for your last keyframe, simply change it to be end as your animator and whallop problem fixed.
- sorry change it to be start as your animator, basically swap what your animating. :)chossy

yeah just play with the start + end settings and see which one 'starts' the animation

Yeah, I can’t get mine to not be greyed out either. If you have an old version of Illustrator...

OK. You have to use the Direct Select tool (the white arrow without the + symbol) and select one point on the path. Then the Reverse Path Direction button should be accessible.
