I was thinking of buying my wife a new point and shoot easy to use camera since there will be a few on sale tomorrow. Which brands or models would you recommend?

Also take a quick look at Flickr... http://www.flickr.com/cameras/ and browse imagery by camera. It'll give you a good idea of the quality of each.
