It's all about the wrapper...
The sad part is that this occurred to me while out with friends and swigging martinis...

if indeed you do have floating content then use the clear suggestion.
Also I dont thing ie supports min-height

Yeah, class or ID wont make a difference there, more likely the container div isn't being stretched out (I haven't even looked at the code, but that would be my first guess...) possibly because the contents is all floated elements. Try using min-height as suggested or use a clearing div underneath your floaters! (If that makes any sense at all!)

stick a min-height onto container.

try changing the div's style into a class instead of id. make the css .container instead of #container and name use div class="container" instead of id.
